'La Rondine di Mare' is a charming villa set in an acre of Mediterranean countryside that boasts spectacular sea views. It is on a quiet road not overlooked by other properties. The house is very big and nicely divided so that everyone has some private space. The sitting room which has three double glass doors that lead outside. Two wings lead off the sitting room. The first leads the master bedroom, single bedroom with shared bathroom. The other wing leads past the kitchen and dinning room, to a bunk bed room and shower room. The dining room has a large round table which is ideal for feeding children or using when it rains and the kitchen is long and easily fits several adults cooking simultaneously. The kitchen has another exit that leads to the car park and a large terrace. Two short, external flights of stairs lead to the two guest suits.
There are 3 terraces. The main one off the sitting room has a teak dining table that seats up to 15 people and several trees that create very welcome shade from the summer sun. In addition there is a large square umbrella and pergola that has a canvas covering providing a large amount of shade. The gardens and grass lawns are ideal for sunbathing or playing catch with your children. The view from this side of the house is due west towards the island of Giglio. Most evening there are spectacular sunsets! On a clear day you can also see the islands of Monte Cristo and Corsica and if you are very lucky even Elba.
The second terrace has a bamboo roof and teak table for 4. We like breakfasting here or having an drink while looking at the island of Giannutri.
The kitchen terrace has recently been resurfaced and is a useful space for your children to play in while you cook or take a break at the other side of the house. There is also a dedicated area for drying clothes.
The Monte Argentario peninsular: You can explore the near by port of Santo Stefano and the marina at Porto Ercole with their fish stalls, markets, boutiques and restaurants. Take the ferry to the islands of Giglio and Giannutri or visit the inland medieval towns of Magliana in Toscana and Capalbio. Or even swim under the waterfall at the Saturnia hot springs.

Summary: My family, friends and I stayed at Bruce’s Cala Picola Villa this summer to celebrate a milestone birthday. The villa is even more beautiful than the pictures capture. We enjoyed a wonderfully layed out villa with a spectacular view off the main terrace area. The lounge furniture was wonderful and there are several areas to spread out for privacy. The bedrooms are comfortable and a good size and most have private bathrooms adjoining. It was a walk over to the Cala Picola hotel to grab the shuttle down to breathtaking private Cala Picola beach club that guests have access to through the villa. Bruce was a lovely and responsive host who provided great communication during our stay. The only challenge was the wifi that would cut in and out frequently but perhaps to be expected on a peninsula. Just a beautiful stay at Bruce’s villa and we will be back again for sure!

Summary: The house is fully equipped and cozy. We felt at home from the first day. The real plus is the beautiful garden and the views from there. We enjoyed very much spending the evenings watching the sun setting from there.

Summary: We had a week in this wonderful family home at the start of September and were all thrilled with our stay. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive. His extensive list of information about the house and local recommendations made our stay very straightforward and relaxed. We had hesitated staying at Cala Piccola since we were traveling with someone slightly disabled but the house was perfectly adapted, as were access arrangements made at the nearby private beach. We would certainly return and warmly recommend this property without hesitation.

Summary: We had a wonderful week here in July! The house is in the exclusive area of Cala Piccola, with direct access to the Cala Piccola club - where you can swim and dine. The house has a spectacular view and is very spacious and full of character. We were sad to leave and hope to return again soon!

Summary: We had a wonderful time at Cala Piccola. The house id very big and there is enough space/privacy for everyone. The maintanance of the house isn´t perfect and the furniture is a little bit old/used but the garden is absolutely stunning and very well kept (a gardener comes twice a week). The view on Giglio and the sunset is wonderful. The beach clup at Cala Piccola (access for 4 People is included in the rental of the house) is reachable by car in 5 minutes and is very beuatiful and very well organized. The communication with Bruce was incredibly easy and quick. We went for dinner to Le Chicche di Cala Moresca and the food and the view where excellent! We (7 pax+dog) had an unforgettable time at Cala Picoola and would love to come again!

Summary: We had a great experience at Bruce's place, we were just six people for a very large house so everyone had plenty of space to relax or play. Bruce was always available and communication with him was smooth and easy. Only problem with recurrent power cuts which was quite annoying. We would strongly recommend this place.

Summary: This property was a superb location for my 50th birthday weekend. The location is wonderful and the sunset was amazing from the garden. The owner was very accommodating and helpful when assistance was needed. I hope to go back there for my 51st birthday!
